About the Role
Unity Primary Care Network has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our network as PCN manager to support our four network practices deliver the strategic and operational aims of the PCN DES, due to the retirement of our current postholder. We are looking for someone to work 15 – 20 hours per week, days can be flexible although will follow a fixed weekly pattern and hours will be expected to be worked during surgery opening hours. The role can be done from home and/or the member GP practices however it is important that the applicant is able to attend meetings within the ICB area, sometimes at short notice. At least one day per week will be office based for meetings with the clinical director and other support staff at the clinical director’s practice.
The post holder will be a key member of the team working closely with the PCN CD, PCN board and practice managers. Project management and finances will be an important part of this post with the ability to direct and co-ordinate activity across all practices. The post-holder will continue to develop and establish strong collaborative relationships with practices and all stakeholders. These include the ICB, local partners, borough councils, practice members of our PCN and, most importantly, our patients.

About Us
The Unity Primary Care Network (PCN) was established as a group of practices within Bedford Place committed to developing joint working across the Unity Primary care footprint. The patient list size of 49,473 is shared across four rural and two in Bedford town practices. The practices employ most of the 41 staff under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme whilst some are provided by third parties.
The purpose of the network is to support member GP Practices in improving resilience and stability, to provide value for money services to commissioners and stakeholders and develop innovative, cost-effective primary and community services that respond to people’s needs.
Our aim is to elucidate the ethos under which Unity has been established and to ensure that all parties involved in the Unity PCN operate within this ethos and adhere to its agreed operational rules.
Our objective is to continue to promote the ethos that primary care services remain a key component of a successful and cost effective health and social care system.
We act as a platform from which practices across the Unity PCN have a unified voice that enables us to have a significant influence on the commissioning and provision of services in the locality and benefit from system savings

Unity PCN is also an active member of Bedford place’s clinical director team who meet regularly with each clinical director chairing these meetings on rotation. The PCN Board meet once per month via MS Teams as do the PCN Managers.
