Senior Design Engineer

Fast-growing global brand, based in Sydney, is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join a dynamic, collaborative team. Role and Responsibilities
You will combine engineering expertise with a passion for food, health and wellness and share your knowledge for the benefit of others. Foremost, you are attuned to your responsibility in decision making that determines the total product lifecycle and the impact this has on environment and community. You possess the enthusiasm and knowledge to want to change the product development paradigm.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring products are wholistically considered and linked to the company's mission and ethics
- Detail design of electromechanical assembly designs with a broad range of materials, production and finishing knowledge and thermal management design
- Fast turnaround prototype construction, produced both internally and with contractors
- Communicating with manufacturers on component and assembly development and product quality expectations
- Maintaining technical documentation and reporting to stakeholders
- Following product performance test procedures to ensure the quality and safety of product satisfies regulatory standards and brand expectations
- Supporting the development and delivery of the strategic product roadmap in an efficient and timely manner
Your Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Manufacturing Engineering with electromechanical experience in both a product design and high volume manufacturing environment
- 7+ years of Engineering experience - food or beverage industry knowledge a plus
- End-to-end product development experience. Motor driven product development experience considered highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials and manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping
- Proven experience collaborating with cross functional teams, locally and abroad, as well as coordinating international manufacturing partners
- Familiar with both regional and international safety compliance standards
- Proficiency in CAD modelling (Solidworks), mechanical and thermal analysis knowledge considered an advantage
