Job description

Dean Close School are looking to appoint a new Teacher of Mathematics to start in September 2024. We are offering either a full-time or a part-time position for the right candidate to join our Mathematics department.

Mathematics is the most popular subject at A-Level with almost half of Year 12 students currently taking the subject. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join their experienced team, working in new classrooms in the heart of the school. As well as teaching Mathematics, they would contribute to the pastoral and extracurricular life of the school. Other roles and responsibilities include:

• To plan and deliver lessons to all age ranges and abilities from Year 9 up to A Level.
• An ability to deliver Further Maths A Level is desirable but not essential.
• To motivate and engage students to reach their potential in Mathematics.
• To contribute to department meetings and to share best practice with colleagues.
• To help run Maths clinics outside of lesson times to support students needing extra help.
• To be responsible for a small tutor group.
• The ability to inspire and teach pupils of different abilities and backgrounds.
• To develop virtual learning and ICT solutions within the department.
• Willingness to contribute to the broader life of a busy boarding school.
