Job description


An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of DCHS Domestic team at Heanor Memorial Health Centre with adhoc cover sometimes required at Ripley Community Hospital.

As a Domestic Assistant, you will become an active member of our team working closely with other disciplines.

We are looking for enthusiastic team members who are eager to learn and to develop themselves.

Previous experience is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided.

We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and want to make a difference to our patients’ experience and who demonstrate values and personal qualities that support the DCHS way of working.

We require 1 domestic assistant - post is 20 hours a week

Rota details - normal shift pattern is Monday-Thursday 5pm-9pm and Friday 3pm-7pm. Occasional cover needed at Ripley Hospital AM and PM shifts

To provide a high quality domestic service to hospital/health centres, and clinical settings.

Working either individually or as part of a team in ensuring a clean and safe environment is maintained for patients, staff and visitors following agreed work schedules, methods and procedures in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness.

The post holder will be required to have a flexible approach and be prepared to work on other sites should service demands dictate.

To play an integral part in delivering outstanding patient care at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust (DCHS).

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.

During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.
