Desmond & Dempsey is a brand dedicated to decorating the downtime. Our purpose is to create products (mostly pyjamas) that mark the pause in our customers' lives. Our products are sold predominantly via our own website and in top tier retailers around the world (eg. Selfridges and Nordstrom). We are a dedicated and inspiring team of 20 that put our values of comfort, creativity and celebration at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for our first ever Social and Community Manager.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
As D&D’s Social and Community Manager, you will be working with the creative brand, marketing and customer team to lead in establishing and growing D&D’s online community. You will be reporting directly to the Creative Lead.
In this role, you will be responsible for Desmond & Dempsey’s social presence. It will be your primary responsibility to engage and communicate on behalf of D&D. Working closely with our creative lead you will be strategically; translating our core messages, values and creative initiatives to best engage with our community, and initiating practices that help widen our reach and presence on social media. You need to be someone who digs the algorithm, knows what trends to follow (or even trendset them), and loves storytelling in both a visual and written form.
You already have a saved section of artists, tastemakers, foodies (any creatives doing anything interesting in off-hours) and feel comfortable reaching out and inviting them to collaborate.
Your responsibilities will be tied to the greater purpose of building global brand awareness, and a loyal customer base.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Develop and implement a social & community strategy for social channels, inline with our editorial direction and content/marketing calendar
- Develop and execute a clear strategy that grows our Instagram and Tiktok reach and expands and engages our existing community
- Create compelling day-to-day content that engages our audience on an intimate level
- Continuously research social trends, new platforms & algorithm to ensure D&D stays relevant and reactive
- Manage all Organic Social Channels daily (Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Youtube, Linkedin) by planning, scheduling, engaging and reporting
- Identify and engage potential talent and influencers for upcoming campaigns and social partnerships
- Create copy for D&D socials in line with our brand’s TOV, storytelling and editorial strategy. You will be the human voice behind our platform
- Help build D&D events programmes (UK & US) to strengthen our community. This may include events such as; community supper clubs, artist retreats, creative workshops
- Reporting monthly across Social and Community to ensure we are constantly applying learnings from our community
- 2-3 Experience of effective social media and community management for luxury brands, building strategies to build brand awareness, engagement and community
- Knowledgeable of evolving and current social media trends, technology, and marketing opportunities and how to apply them to a luxury brand
- Strong sense of aesthetic that resonates with the D&D mood and tone, with a great attention to detail
- Fundamental image and video editing experience on Iphone
- Natural inclination to deliver and embrace creative and innovative ideas
