The Role
The Continuous Improvement Officer will be an advocate of sustainable change, delivering continuous improvement across operations and corporate services. The Continuous Improvement Officer will help identify and deliver service improvement activity across the business to ensure a best-in-class service is received by our customers and funders.
This will include working with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing programme of change.
Location: we are accepting applicants from candidates who live within a reasonable distance of any of the following offices: Middlesbrough, Reading, Oxford, Brighton.
Salary: £30,000-£34,000
Key Responsibilities
- To assist in the implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy and culture
- Review key data points to identify trends, highlighting area’s where business practices can be optimised or improved
- To support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working.
- Work with the business to ensure change processes are fit for purpose and adhered to.
- To work with the CI manager to implement change initiatives from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery via internal governance and controls, driving process change using people interviews, data analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, business analysis and workflow analysis
- Support the CI manager the business-wide improvement programme providing leadership and support to deliver and record tangible results.
- Building Trust with departmental teams through direct engagement and strong relationship building
- Manage end to end workflow for all idea submitted from across the business
Person Specification
- Experience of designing or implementing effective solutions in an everchanging business environment
- Experience of identifying and addressing productivity and efficiency issues, and track record of following through to ensure closure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of Partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts
- Strong analytical, project and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills along with high level of integrity and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to coach, teach and mentor to drive improvement activities
- A collaborative and hands on leader of cross functional teams
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to think/act both strategically and tactically
- System Thinker - ability to see and understand overall picture.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Integrity under pressure
- Experience working with continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma DMAIC.
The successful candidate should be flexible and willing to travel where required.
