We are looking for a talented Volunteer Co-ordinator who will be responsible for recruiting, training, supporting and developing our voluntary services, so that we can support our community.
The successful candidate will have
• Good people skills, ability to put people first and ensure accessibility to the project
• Excellent communication and listening skills, and the ability to manage challenging conversations
• Motivation, organisation and excellent time management skills
• Previous experience of working in a busy administrative role within a healthcare/charity organisation

East Sussex Community Health NHS Trust (ESHT) provides acute hospital and community health services for people living in East Sussex and surrounding areas. We have over 500 volunteers in a wide range of roles, supporting our commitment to putting people first in providing high quality healthcare in a safe and welcoming environment.
The role is for 15 hours per week Monday - Wednesday and you will be part of a pair of Volunteer Co-ordinators based in Eastbourne District General Hospital with a further pair based at Conquest Hospital, Hastings. We are looking for a good team player, to support colleagues in day to day tasks and activities.
You will have good administrative and organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and excellent communications skills, to effectively engage with colleagues, staff, volunteers and external services. Further skills and abilities include -
• Ability to develop, deliver and administer recruitment, training and induction processes for ESHT volunteers
• Ability to promote and enhance opportunities for volunteering within ESHT, which will include, supporting staff to identify roles suitable for volunteers
• Ability to demonstrate respect and compassion and support volunteers through 1:1 meetings and facilitating volunteer events
