Reporting to the Head of Finance with a dotted line to the Commercial Director - EMEA, this is a ‘hands on’ finance business partner role in a large, international, multi-functional division of a market leading life sciences group. With a significant control based and ‘number crunching’ core, there is also a heavy emphasis on business partnering to commercially focused Head of Finance and Commercial Director. The EMEA region comprises c.50% of the divisions revenue.

 

The role will require some international travel.

 

Business Process Improvement projects, as well as commercial insight, will also be a significant part of the role. There will also be a need for this role to deputise for the Head of Finance in meetings with Senior Management, so demands strong influencing skills & the gravitas to develop relationships with key decision-makers.

 

With a real mix of responsibilities within a fast-growing international products and services business, this role is a great ‘bridge’ to a future Head of Commercial Finance role.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

• Sales Flash - weekly roll up of global revenue submissions, present figures to SLT and VP of Standards, challenge commercial VP's on numbers
• Month End Revenue reporting for MBR
• Month End P&L review
• Bonus - review commercial sales incentives, input into commission plan for following year & help set targets to ensure BUD is delivered
• Ownership of delivery of financial MI (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually)
• Business partner with commercial leads to provide challenge and ‘value add’ analysis in order to help them make more informed decisions
• Consolidate, manage and deliver Annual Budgets, Forecasting and rolling Forecast compilation, ensuring a best practice process is in place

• Development of new business insight tools

• Internal Control System ‘Ownership’; including development and implementation of new key control / financial operating manuals
• Ownership of balance sheet management – assets, liabilities and risk

• Appetite for some international travel and fast paced commercial culture
• Ability to cope in a demanding and pressurised (but very rewarding) environment
• Industry experience in a complex international manufacturing environment is desired
• Flexible work environment
• Hybrid working (50% office based)
• Either ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
