Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

HOLIDAY AND SICKNESS COVER

FEMALE Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 78-year-old lady living in the Penywaun area. I live alone in my home with support from my family. My daughter is my carer and I am looking for someone who can take on her role when she has time off. My other daughter and my son visit regularly and I see my grand-children too.

I have dementia and need help with everyday tasks sometimes as some days I cannot remember how to do things. I also have some trouble with communicating as sometimes I cannot find the words to explain what I want or need at times. This can lead to me feeling or becoming quite anxious.

I need some personal care like dressing and cups of tea, and meals.

I do enjoy going out but I find it hard to plan ahead as I won't know until the day if I feel like doing anything. It would be good to have a PA who can drive and has their own car for occasional trips although I can still travel on buses with help.

I enjoy watching TV but get anxious when I see things on the news that scare me and would need reassuring when I feel like this

I need prompting with my medication, mainly remembering to take it.

I have some trouble with incontinence so would need occasional support with changing clothing and having frequent toilet stops when out and about.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support me with my daily living at home and to help me remain as independent as possible.
