Job description
The Governors of Holy Cross Catholic High School are seeking to appoint an inspirational, ambitious and innovative Deputy Headteacher following the promotion of the current Deputy Headteacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inclusive leader to join a highly skilled, experienced and committed Senior Leadership Team. Holy Cross is a popular and oversubscribed high performing school situated in the market town of Chorley.
Our new Deputy Headteacher will work with the Headteacher, governors and staff to support with shaping the strategic direction of the school. The Deputy Headteacher will have a strong track record at Senior Leadership level and the personality, drive and ambition to inspire both staff and pupils in line with our mission statement I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.
In October 2022 an Ofsted inspection concluded that Holy Cross continues to be a good school with many outstanding areas.

Essential Qualifications
Degree
DfE recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE or equivalent
Evidence of continuing professional development including working towards or attainment of Leadership Pathways, NPQH or NPQSL
Desirable Qualifications
Relevant post-graduate study or qualifications
CCRS or equivalent
Assistant Headteacher level in a Secondary School
Essential Experience
A practising Catholic
Recent successful comprehensive school experience at strategic leadership level or post of equivalent responsibility within the education sector
Proven leadership, management and teaching skills
Experience of leading whole school improvement
Desirable Experience
Experience of leading in a Catholic school
Experience of leading curriculum innovation
