Our client is looking for a Customs Technical Specialist on a permanent, staff basis, located in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire. There is also the option for this role to be fully remote.

ROLE
To coordinate the delivery of quality technical services to meet client requirements, supporting overall account performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical responsibilities:
- Act as the Technical point of contact for our clients including representing the company through client meetings and visiting client premises as required.
- Act as the Technical point of contact within the company including preparation and reports for Account Managers.
- Responsible for ensuring the service delivered is meeting expectations and satisfying all client requirements by means of supporting the Technical Account Manager, ensuring concise planning and quality at all times.
- Utilising opportunities to share knowledge with internal teams and development of their awareness of technical knowledge, including supporting Client Account Manager with alignment of procedures with legislative requirements as well as supporting with the set up of client contracts.
- Identifying opportunities for increased business with existing clients and engaging with prospective clients, to ensure that the company is best placed to maximise increased business opportunities.
- Supporting with the development of additional service offerings for existing or potential clients
- Providing technical support and guidance to the Customs Admin Coordinator to support the Customs Administration team.
- Work closely with the Customs Admin Coordinator in respect of Compliance Reviews, Quality Reviews and Coordination of training and support requirements
- Support Technical Account Manager in respect of Training Course preparation and delivery
- Ensure costs for work undertaken are managed for invoicing.
- Support the Technical Account Manger to ensure continued awareness of legislative changes and developments, and informing relevant clients as required.

Operational responsibilities:
- Supporting clients and colleagues with technical knowledge and awareness
- Support in the development of technical specifications and clear procedures to support the development of client standard operating procedures, work scopes and KPIs.
- Assist clients in their direct or written communication with Customs inclusive of assistance with the preparation of HMRC applications such as AEO, EIDR, End Use, Inward Processing etc.
- Support Technical Account Manager with legislative reporting as and when required on behalf of clients
REQUIREMENTS
Full UK Driving Licence essential.
Qualifications
- Must possess a good level of general education of at least higher grade in Mathematics and English.
- A willingness to undertake any further related training as required
Skills/Knowledge
- A good general knowledge of current customs legislation with the ability to advise on general customs matters.
- A general understanding and experience of supply chain procedures
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas Industry as well as experience of working with other sectors
- Good commercial awareness skills and business understanding
- Experience of working in a client focused environment
- The ability to work in a team environment as well as to work unsupervised.
- Computer literate with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Motivated with the ability to exercise initiative to problem solve.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload to meet demands.
- Accuracy, with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information.
