About this job:

As the Manager, Congresses at Astellas, you will play a critical role in leading the strategic planning and execution of global in-person, virtual, or hybrid events within specific therapeutic areas and regions. You will collaborate closely with affiliate events teams, brand teams, and healthcare organizations to ensure the seamless execution of events in alignment with global brand strategy and objectives.

Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement of the congress channel by gathering insights and customer feedback, implementing new approaches, and enhancing the overall event experience and audience reach. Your responsibilities will extend to managing relationships with designated third-party resources for global events and ensuring compliance with Astellas policies and procedures throughout the event lifecycle.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the strategic leadership and execution of global congresses and events within specific therapeutic areas and regions.
• Collaborate with affiliate events teams and healthcare organizations to ensure alignment with global brand strategy and objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement and evolution of the congress channel by gathering insights and customer feedback.
• Manage relationships with designated third-party resources for global events and ensure compliance with Astellas policies and procedures.
• Co-create the therapeutic area-specific congress channel strategy with cross-functional teams to support event planning and execution globally.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

• Proven work experience in a tradeshow environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Project management experience in pharmaceuticals.
• Experience working with Legal, Medical, and Regulatory (LMR) teams and understanding compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated success in understanding customer needs and behaviors in delivering compliant events.
• Proven ability to negotiate and drive value for Astellas with event partners.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

• Business-related or scientific degree from a leading university.
• Experience working with digital and other event channels to create a broader customer experience.
• Strong ability to navigate a matrix global organization in a multi-cultural environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and department meeting management software.
• Prior experience in managing expenses and budgets for events.

Additional information:

• This is a permanent, full-time position.
• This position follows our hybrid model. Role requires a blend of home a minimum of 1 day per quarter in our Addlestone office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
