About The Role
As Regional HR Advisor, you will provide high quality remote ER / HR support and advice to managers in a focused way and within SLA. You will manage and monitor a wide range of cases which are escalated from our HR Helpdesk that vary in complexity, including supporting the defence of ET claims.
Dealing with a high volume of cases in a fast paced environment you will upskill and empower our Home Managers and Area Directors to make sound and balanced decisions in relation to their teams, which support the HC-One vision to be the first choice care home for those in the communities we serve, their Relatives and our Colleagues.
Your role will involve:
- Working with the Regional HR Manager to deliver a high quality service and the best support to the care homes we serve.
- Advising, coaching and guiding our Home Managers on how to proceed with any absence, performance, conduct, grievance and capability issues following best practice and ensuring compliance with employment law.
- Responding effectively to queries and using your experience to influence the appropriate course of action and escalating when needed.
- Building good relationships with Home Managers, Area Directors and our Regional HR Colleagues, highlighting significant trends and working in collaboration to achieve the best for our homes.
- Assist with the creation and updating of policies and procedures to keep them aligned with legislative requirements and maintaining our ethos of being The Kind Care Company.
- Continuous professional development, keeping abreast of forthcoming employment law, emerging case law, changes and best practice, as well as sharing/using our case experiences to learn and improve, informing our coaching and processes.
- Leading or supporting appropriate projects when required.
- Creating and maintaining accurate records of all calls received and advice given

About You
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Significant experience working in Human Resources in an Employee Relations Advisor role or something very similar where you have experience of handling a variety of Employee Relations issues
- CIPD qualified, you can demonstrate knowledge of legal requirements and best practice ideas in a similar industry
- Strong working understanding of Employment Law & HR ‘best practice’ industry standards.
- Strong working knowledge of ER issues such as, Discipline, Grievance, Suspensions, Performance Improvement and Sickness absence and the ability to apply these to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and commercially focused approach
- Experience of supporting the defence of ET claims
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and demonstrating strong relationship building and networking skills. Interacts with others in a sensitive, respectful and effective way.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well and adapt your style to suit different audiences
- IT literate to include the use of Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritise workload and plan time effectively, working on your own initiative, proactively and at pace to deliver required milestones
- Working to tight deadlines whilst responding to last minute changes within these
- Ability to analyse management information to drive decision making
- Leads by example, is open to feedback and demonstrates the values of the company
- A sharp eye for detail as well as being curious and intuitive, leading to creative solutions and approaches
- Ability to make rational judgements based on relevant information and able to provide relevant options and risks
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- HR / ER Advisory experience within the social care sector
- Demonstrable experience of designing & delivering HR related training
- Experience of HR Project Implementation
- Experience of case managing ET claims
- Experience of working in partnership with a field based HR team
- Experience of TUPE and Redundancy
