Job description
 We have an opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in the Merthyr Region. 
 We are looking for a vet who can work as part of a team and sole charge across our Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare branches. 
 Merthyr Tydfil is a busy practice, in a large building that has 3 consulting rooms, operating theatre and imaging room. We work with VVS to support ultrasound scanning if required. You would be working as part a team with three other vets, six nurses and three receptionists. The practice sees a good mix of cases, including plenty of ECC cases. The role would be a mix of consulting and operating. 
 Our Aberdare practice is situated in the heart of the town centre and is a mix of consulting and operating sole charge. It is a well equipped practice, with ultrasound, dental machine and in house lab. You would be working with an RVN and receptionist. 
 The rota would be a mix of the two clinics, 8.30-6pm 4 days per week, with inclusion on the Saturday morning rota 1:3 (9-2pm) at Merthyr. We could discuss other options that may be more suitable to you, so please do get in contact. 
 Key benefits include: 
-  Salary £45,000 to £60,000 per year

 In this role you will: 
-  Provide first class clinical care through consultations, procedures and monitoring. 
-  Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care. 
-  Provide exceptional client care giving clear updates on patients, resolving issues as they arise. 
-  Observe the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance. 
-  Prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensuring payment and minimising debt. 
-  Maximise capacity through the most effective utilisation of clinical skills. 
-  Hold engaging clinical meetings with veterinary and nursing teams. 
-  Support and carry out colleague clinical mentoring / development. 
-  Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across clinics and the wider Medivet community. 
-  RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon, or with the eligibility to be registered. 
-  Minimum of one year of small animal practice experience. 
-  A client-oriented approach, with excellent communication skills. 
-  Experience of working to the highest medical and surgical standards. 
-  Experience of working with a team to develop a practice. 
-  Competent in clinical examination and surgery. 
-  Confident working sole charge. 
-  Experience ofbuilding trusting relationships with colleagues, and working effectively as part of a team. 
-  A great communicator, you will be an outstanding and positive example to others.
