Job Description:

Weare looking for Senior Mental Health Practitioner to work in our LiaisonPsychiatry Service in Torbay Hospital. Working on a shift based (includingweekends and nights) you will play an essential role in providing 24/7specialist mental health services to those who need them.

Based within Torbay Hospital, you will become part of amulti-disciplinary team providing assessment, referral and signposting to appropriate agencies that deliverrecovery-focused care for people with complex mental health needs.

Youwill be a strong confident and capable senior mental health practitionercapable of making decisions that change lives. This post is a fantastic opportunityfor the candidate to gain experience and undertake training anddevelopment opportunities to help them establish a strong career within anaward winning mental health trust. We welcome those with a nursing, social work or occupational health background to augment the skills and knowledge of our current team.

Main duties of the job

Youwill be responsible for taking the lead for mental health services in TorbayHospital and making decisions that affect lives.

It will be your job to make specialist mental healthassessments, and devise interventions that will help people to recover. Youwill play a key role in a dynamic multidisciplinary team, working with multipleagencies on a daily basis.

You will be confident working with theknowledge to devise individual recovery plans for the people you see. Itsimportant that you can communicate effectively, not only with your team colleagues but also our professional colleagues within other disciplines across the hospital, with the community mental health teams and with the people you care for, their families and carers. .

You will be an experienced mental health professional with aprofessional mental health qualification (RMN, CQSW / ASW, BSc/Diploma in OT,SROT)
