The role
Facilitate the management and delivery of the Environmental Management System (EMS), providing support, advice, and documentation on environmental topics for all activities and services across the client’s major program falling within the EMS scope
High-level accountabilities include:
- Monitoring compliance with EPR and other regulatory requirements
- Managing the technical development, production, and review of documentation in support of the EMS
- Assuring the implementation of environmental requirements from the EMS within the operational/project area
High-level responsibilities include:
- Monitoring compliance with the Environmental Permit by ensuring suitable arrangements for delivering the client’s major program activities
- Monitoring compliance with the client organization's other environmental obligations and sustainability goals
- Engaging in the implementation of EMS standards and processes to test their suitability and operability
- Analysing the client’s major program environmental performance metrics
- Developing and proactively managing the interface and relationship with all internal and external regulators and stakeholders
Qualifications/Skills & Experience
- Degree in an environmental science or management-based subject or vocational qualification (HND or equivalent) and/or commensurate practical experience - Essential
- Membership of IEMA/CIWEM/CIWM/CIEEM (or other appropriate institute) - Desired
- Detailed understanding of current EMS including ISO14001 - Essential
- Detailed understanding of current environmental legislation, standards, and guidance- Essential
- Extensive experience in several of the following areas (gained within or outside a nuclear environment): EMS, Environmental assessments, ISO14001, Policies and Legislation, Sustainability, Front End, Project design, Commissioning, Operations, and/or Decommissioning- Essential
- Understanding of nuclear organization management systems - Desired
