Summary
We’re looking for a Volunteering & Community Manager to join the Property Leadership team at Knole. This role is central to the development and delivery of our volunteering and visitor offer.
This is an opportunity to lead for Knole’s volunteer involvement and grow engagement with communities.
Interviews: 26th – 28th March at Knole
Salary: £30,966 per annum. This is our anticipated salary from 1st April but is subject to final confirmation following the Trust’s annual pay review process.

What it's like to work here
We’re a busy team, who like a challenge and work together to get the job done.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll manage Knole’s team of Volunteering & Community staff and a delegated budget. You’ll be responsible for the effective management and development of Knole’s valued and highly skilled team of around 400 volunteers.
You’ll manage community engagement and partnerships, working with property colleagues in the Collections & House and Visitor Experience teams, along with our Senior Programming & Partnerships Officer.
Knole is a busy heritage attraction, all staff members work on a rota basis across seven days of the week. Regular weekend and Bank Holiday working is required as part of this role. You’ll be required to work one weekend per month, with time off in lieu given. This role will also include some Duty Management Support cover, alongside other senior staff members.

What you'll be doing
You’ll ensure volunteer cover across the property 363 days per year and deliver plans for recruitment, retention, and ongoing development.
Working in partnership with the rest of the Property Leadership Team, you’ll strategically plan, implement, and evolve volunteering at Knole and our work with communities. Coaching colleagues to increase their confidence and capability, you’ll create a positive, flexible, and inclusive environment for volunteers, communities, and partners.
You’ll support the General Manager to embed the ‘Everyone Welcome’ value, working to increase access. You’ll be collectively responsible for the effective operation of the overall property and delivery of the Property Business Plan.
