Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Kiddiwinks Nursery and Pre-School require an Early Years level 2 apprentice to work as a team member, within the guidance, leadership and coaching of that team, to ensure that all children attending the setting receive high quality care, are kept safe, and receive rich and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs
- Whilst undertaking theoretical and practical training and completing tasks and assignments to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve a level 2 apprenticeship in early years practitioner
- Supervising and maintaining a safe environment for children at all times
- Observing, assessing, and evaluating children's growth and development
- Organise and plan activities to simulate children's growth and development
- Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety, and cleanliness throughout the setting
- Support the existing members of staff with any other day-to-day tasks and activities
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence
- You will be expected to work towards the early year’s practitioner level 2 apprenticeship standard, with support from your employer and Inspiro Learning
- As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these
The training you will be getting
Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:
- As an Apprentice you will complete an Early Years Practitioner Standard
- Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in maths and English
- Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Inspiro Learning regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment
- The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role. Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- Once the apprenticeship has been completed and passed, this could lead to a permanent position in the nursery
- Further training is also available and encouraged to support you as part of your professional development as an Early Years Practitioner
