The Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for managing the external supply base and driving to improve and achieve enhanced performance, with a focus on supplier product, process, quality and safety performance, leading to strong business partnerships through long-term agreements.

Some of the Supplier Quality Manager’s responsibilities include:

• Daily management of the Supplier Quality team, monitoring performance and achievement in line with company strategy.
• Carry out supplier audits when necessary for both UK and overseas suppliers, along with co-ordinating initial quality and technical assessments of new and existing suppliers.
• Introducing quality tools, techniques and KPIs to eliminate quality problems.
• Managing supplier corrective actions and improve supplier product quality performance.
• Responsibility for all aspects of Supplier Quality and development.

Requirements of the Supplier Quality Manager

• To be able to analyse complex issues including root cause assessment, evaluate options and make recommendations with clear reasoning to support.
• Experience of measuring & managing supplier performance.
• Experience within a manufacturing company (high volume manufacturing is desirable).
• Quality/ Auditing qualifications.
• Experience with lean techniques with the ability to drive process improvement is advantageous.
