Sustainability Manager

Marketing & Product Department

Swindon - Hybrid

This is a brand-new role that will see you working closely with our Head of Sustainability to passionately champion our sustainability strategy and drive our pre mapped agenda.

Many exciting challenges await our new Sustainability Manager but in essence you will support, align, and embed Sustainability, Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles and actions within Arval UK, whilst working with key stakeholders, including interactions with customers, Arval Group and BNP Paribas. You will lead our journey to raise the level of environmental management, whilst maintaining compliance.  The role also involves the ongoing maintenance of Arval’s ISO14001:2015 certification.

Additionally, you will be an integral enabler, supporting the development and actions for company commitments across the 4 pillars of the global Sustainability strategy at a local level (Economic, People, Community and Environment).

Finally, as this role involves transversal working, you will leverage and bring together resources and actions from across the business, whilst supporting functions to understand why and how sustainability plays, or can develop to play, a part in their daily roles.

What’s in it for you?

This role comes with a basic salary range of £45,000 to £50,000 and being at pay zone level B2, an additional £4,600 (max) bonus + company car or £5,500pa cash allowance.

We operate a hybrid working option, which means you can equally (50:50) split your time between our office in Swindon and home once you are fully up to speed.

About You

We are very excited to be hiring someone with a real passion for sustainability, along with clarity in evidencing success in a similar job elsewhere. Being a brand-new role, we need someone who can bring both expertise for the topic and the genuine drive to help us develop and grow our Sustainability, ESG and CSR principles within Arval UK.

To secure this role, you will need to demonstrate expert knowledge of sustainability, carbon measurement, reduction, and environmental management programmes, along with experience in creating strategies, aligning corporate objectives, legislation, and good practice. In addition, you will need experience in developing action plans that target sustainability with measurable business and/or customer benefit. Experience of successful delivery of impactful sustainability projects of varying scale and risk is also a prerequisite.

Finally, we are looking for you to have proven experience in creating and reporting business plan forecasts and budget projections in relation to sustainability.
