Job description

Salaried General Practitioner (GP) * Lewes, Sussex * £12k/s * 15 mins consults * 2 hours dedicated admin/day * 1 hour paid training/day * closely linked to secondary care * Your own PA * Vast Support team * State of art building and clinical facilities * Your own special interest

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

> £12,000/session
> 6 annual leave weeks + paid CPD time equating to 6 weeks study leave (spread over the year @ 30 minutes per session)
> NHS Pension
> Other Benefits: 2 hours of dedicated Admin time per day
> Weekly on-site education
> Hospital consultants work from the same facilities, which give rate opportunities for integrated work between primary and secondary care.
> GPs have their own Personal Assistants
> Outstanding facilities with state of the art building and plenty of medical services

ABOUT THE ROLE

> 6 to 8 sessions/week
> 10-15 mins consults: option to choose between 10 or 15 minutes consultation format.
> Hardly no home visits: paramedics do vast majority.
> No extended hours
> The GP’s are encouraged to develop a special interest during their paid sessions. Or they could also use the practices private facilities for their own private work.

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

> Training Practice
> Clinical Support Staff: “Vast” support team, including ANPs, Practice Nurses, Paramedics, Specialist nurses, GP PA team, Prescription administrators, Heads of office, Clinical administrators and plenty of other roles!
> QOF score between 90% and 95%
> Brand new, purpose built
> Onsite free parking

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

> Providing leadership within the practice and contributing to team development.
> Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, CQC
> Awareness of national standards of infection control and cleanliness and regulatory / contractual / professional requirements, and good practice guidelines
> Management and advice relating to infection control and clinically based patient care protocols, and implementation of those protocols across the practice
> Help the practice build on their latest, positive, CQC report and shape the future of the practice.
> Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay updated on medical advancements and best practices.
> Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.
> Participating in training and educational programs.
> Liaise with other healthcare professionals (e.g., midwives, pharmacists, health visitors and psychiatrists) as part of multidisciplinary teams
> Carry out clinical examinations

REQUIREMENTS

> Newly qualified as well as experienced GPs
> Using electronic medical records
> An excellent communicator with a positive attitude
> Full membership of a medical defence union
> Enhanced DBS check
> Experience of working in a primary care as a qualified GP or during Training Specialty
> Understanding of Primary Care and the Healthcare system
> Able to work autonomously
> Ability to work under pressure
> Completion of a recognised GP training program
