Job description
This role reports in to the Group Financial Controller and will involve the following
- Responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Group hedging policy. Review detailed analysis of Group currency exposures and FX forecasts, generated using complex Excel models. Propose actions to ensure the Group currency positions remain hedged
- Based on projected currency exposures and cash flows, propose cash currency conversions. Work with Group Treasury team to gain their agreement and book deals with the bank
- Review reconciliations of Group FX actuals to forecast, investigating and resolving any issues.
- Ensure any risks associated with fluctuations in FX rates and exposures are monitored, considering impact on other areas of the business including Tax, Treasury and Finance
- Review the monthly reporting analysis produced by the Senior Financial Analyst, identify areas for further analysis and produce insightful analysis
- Assist in developing, improving and documenting the existing foreign exchange processes across the Group, looking for automation and efficiencies
- Where applicable, manage the administration and accounting for external financial instruments.
- Monitor adherence to foreign currency processes and policies across the Group, particularly in relation to cross currency trading and resulting intercompany loans
- Assist regions with resolving intercompany loan issues, including loan journals and agreement documentation.
- Provide input from a currency exposure perspective to a range of intercompany loan situations, such as the structuring of new loan arrangements and the payment of dividends.
- Review the detailed workings for the Group interest recharges.
- Prepare notes to the financial statements relating to foreign exchange and interest rate risk.
- Act as point of contact for all foreign exchange queries across the Group and frequently provide input to a range of situations as they arise.
