Our mission is to influence decision-makers – large and small – towards action that directs global capital away from climate change-related activities and towards a net-zero carbon, high-resilience economy.

With 40 team members across Australia and the UK, the Climate Risk Group brings together XDI, with its finance and business focus, and Climate Valuation, which provides household-level insights into the costs of climate change. Together, our work leverages physical climate risk data, influence with global financial players, and grassroots momentum to create a compelling case for change.

Our European client base has grown rapidly over the past 3 years through a network of resellers and direct client relationships. We are now working toward establishing our first European office in London in early 2024, to provide a home for our team members based in Spain and the UK as we’re currently working from home or sometimes together in our shared office space in Covent Garden.

The Role

Our partners and resellers sector strategy forms a significant part of our hyper-focus in Asia and the EU over the next 18 months. Through our commercial partnerships, XDI data can reach a wider market segment in a broader set of applications.

As Partnerships and Business Development Executive, you will join a globally distributed and empowered team of Sector & Partnerships Leads Specialists, Customer Success Managers, and Data Product Specialists whose knowledge and expertise deliver exceptional value to our customers, including global and domestic banks, asset managers, insurance and finance regulators, management advisory, data providers, and risk and sustainability consultants.

Hands-on with the many new business development and sales activities, from responding to inbound leads and requests for proposals, to preparing quotes and pitches, you will be responsible for driving new partnerships and client acquisition within the sector and contributing to its growth. You will also support the development of the sector strategy in consultation with product and regional insights, including commercial objectives.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the development of strategic plans to achieve partnership targets and customer base
• Contribute to the development of the commercial and cultural aspects of the business in line with the company’s vision, purpose, and strategic goals
• Originate strong strategic relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to help create risk awareness, and drive the development of solutions to complex problems in climate risk analysis
• Respond to requests for proposals and prepare quotes for target clients
• Support regional and local pitches to ensure powerful proposals and convincing presentations are delivered
• Manage and maintain CRM database and related reporting
• Work with Communication & Marketing to develop sales and marketing collateral that delivers core target customers aligned with our goals, and market insights and thought-leadership pieces to raise The Climate Risk Group/XDI profile and impact.
• Be an advocate of our clients, provide customer insights and input for new product development to the Technical, Science, and Product Development teams, including emerging needs, opportunities, and ideation of product design

Capabilities and Experience Sought After

• 7+ years of industry experience in banking and finance, corporate or engineering, working within a B2B environment

• Exposure to a technical consulting environment, fintech, climtech, and SaaS an advantage.
• A thorough understanding of lead management, and proven experience writing tenders and proposals.
• Our technology and products are some of the most advanced risk analysis tools in the world. The ability to communicate complicated concepts and translate them into a business value position will be a skill that is highly valued.
• Experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM will be looked upon favourably.
• Exceptional collaboration skills, working with others and with other functions (tech, science, project, analytics) to increase productivity, share ideas, develop solutions to achieve a common goal, and maintain healthy relationships.
• Outstanding (written and oral) communication skills and an ability to lead productive, positive, and outcome-driven discussions
• Natural aptitude for thinking laterally and forward, solving problems through a creative and indirect approach, and providing options while looking beyond immediate tasks to consider long-term impact.
• Able to spot opportunities to “shift the dial on climate change” across collaborations, products, messaging, research, or any other vehicle supporting the organisation’s vision and values.
