Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, looking for flexibility and to work with a newly established and rapidly growing civil engineering, groundworks, frames, and basements contractor.

Having previously worked for several years with the Commercial Director, he has asked PSR Solutions to exclusively recruitment for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position, which will be his No. two.

The business has doubled in size year on year, and already has a 2024 / 2025 order book to continue this trend. They specialise in delivering projects from £10,000 to £4,000,000, with works including, groundworks, demolition & strip out, steel structures, brick & blockwork, basements, and underpinning.

As the successful candidate you will have ownership of 4 - 5 projects, usually including a couple of projects valued around £1m and additional smaller projects. You will have ownership and responsibility for commercially managing them from pricing and tendering, through to final accounts.

Senior Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:

Full commercial administration of JCT contracts.

Working with Commercial Director to price and tender new contracts.

Monitoring & reviewing progress on site in line with commercials and programme.

Agreeing monthly payment valuations.

Agreeing instructions, change and processing variations.

Take-off's and Remeasurement

Attending client and project progress meetings.

Agreeing Final Accounts.

Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:

Degree or NHD/HND Quantity Surveying or construction related qualification.

Previous experience working for civil engineering, groundworks contractor or developer.

Experienced in self-delivery of projects from award to final accounts.

Able to read and price works from drawings, price variations, do Take-Offs and remeasure.

JCT Contract experience.

Well organised, diligent, self-motivated, and proactive.

Full UK driving license.
