As the Company Accountant/ Finance Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the whole finance function and in addition pick up adhoc HR admin duties when required.
This is an office based position.
Responsibilities include:
- Accurate and timely payroll processing, payment, administration and query resolution.
- On-time monthly payment of tax, NIC and pension contributions to meet legislative requirements.
- Credit control - taking prompt action to collect debts and minimise overdue, including issue of statements, overdue letters, telephone calls, legal proceedings as appropriate. Issue of weekly stop lists.
- Reviewing customer credit limits and obtaining customer credit reports as necessary.
- Sales ledger - posting of cash receipts, issue of sundry invoices and credit notes.
- With others, to ensure that all statutory regulations specific to Health & Safety and Environment standards are adhered to.
- To ensure the implementation and maintenance of all relevant procedures as defined in the Company Quality Manual.
- To perform all month end duties in a timely manner
- Manage purchase ledger - ensuring invoices are posted in a timely manner and reconciled to supplier statements, resolve queries, arrange authorised payments to suppliers as and when due.
- On time completion of VAT returns
- To update KPI for overdue debt including action plans
- To update holiday chart and provide attendance and sick record on a monthly basis
- To update tooling matrix on a monthly basis
- Give a timely response to any customer emails, messages etc. (max 24hrs)
- To read all emails on a daily basis
- To undertake any other work deemed necessary, and within the capability of the job holder, as required by the Plant Director.
Essential experience
- Experience in an accounting/ finance background
- Excellent communication skills
- Methodical and organised
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong numeracy skills
