This role is located in the UK, based out of the Teddington office in South West London. Whilst this role is primarily office based, LGC (and the Group Pricing team) make use of hybrid working with time divided between working remotely and in the office based on business requirements. LGC is a global organization and whilst regular travel to international offices is not necessary, there may be opportunities to travel to other LGC sites within the UK and abroad from time to time.

About the job:
The Lead Pricing Analyst is responsible for driving pricing led decision-making across the LGC Group. Reporting into the Head of Pricing, the role will play a pivotal part of the regular price change review process, partnering with business stakeholders and working across the end-to-end journey of pricing decision making from pricing strategy to implementation.
Alongside this, this visible role will take ownership of the delivery and evolution of pricing reporting and analysis, seeking out ways to drive greater impact and efficiency.
The role is very analytical and will suit an individual with a strong understanding of Excel, PowerPoint and has a desire to learn more about data analysis tools such as Tableau and working with SQL (where previous experience is a plus, but not essential).
Succeeding in this role will require strong existing analytical skills and appetite to continually strive to improve these, strong problem solving skills and a desire to take ownership and drive forward the quality of pricing decision making within a fast-paced and ever-evolving organization.
What you’ll do:
- The Lead Pricing Analyst has three main areas of responsibility but will have the opportunity to develop and get involved with new pricing initiatives and projects as the business need arises.
- Business partnering
- Partner and work with stakeholders across all levels of seniority on pricing projects and initiatives ·
- Prepare pricing analyses and proposals to support commercial team on business development ·
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across different functions including marketing, product management, finance and commercial, becoming a trusted advisor for pricing decision making. ·
- Become a champion for pricing-led decision making processes within the business unit. ·
- Develop a strong understanding of how the business unit works and the role that group pricing plays within their processes (including pricing tools and systems)
- Pricing review processes ·
- Own the pricing review process for the business unit, from creation of analysis, supporting conversations with stakeholders through to the implementation of new pricing into systems. ·
- Undertake analysis across product ranges, customers, regions to identify opportunities and challenges for consideration by the business. ·
- Work with the Head of Pricing and VP Group Pricing to create meaningful analysis with clear narratives and guidance for the business. ·
- Own the development of improvements and efficiencies for the process, collaborating across the group pricing function to scale these to maximise impact.
- Price reporting
- Oversee the creation, delivery and impact of regular price reporting for the business unit, driving quality and efficiency improvements. ·
- Work with senior stakeholders to develop their understanding of the impact of pricing decisions. ·
- Support the Head of Pricing with the evolution of price reporting capabilities and tools to drive efficiency and speed of decision making across the organization. ·
- Use a combination of Excel and Tableau based tools and datasets to investigate fluctuations and identify meaningful opportunities for the business to consider.
Qualifications
The skills you’ll need:
- We’re seeking an analytical professional, with a solid foundation in data analysis, synthesizing and presenting findings to influence stakeholders and drive decision making. We’ll be looking for evidence of tangible impact from your work, as well as demonstration of a growth mindset and desire to learn and question.
- Along with the strong fundamentals in Excel and PowerPoint, we’re looking for someone who can demonstrate that they are able to work in a fast-paced team environment and is able to demonstrate an aptitude for solving problems to effectively overcome hurdles that arise and move projects forwards.
You’ll have (required):
- 2-4 years’ experience in a pricing, finance, or commercial function in a relatable industry. · Degree level qualification or relevant professional qualification.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, being comfortable working with and creating complex Excel based analyses.
- Good attention to detail, with a communication style to which others respond positively.
- Experience working with and influencing stakeholders, understanding their priorities and how they like to be communicated with.
- Worked in a team environment, collaborating effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Experience balancing priorities and able to manage stakeholder expectations to deliver on time.
- Business-level proficiency / fluency in English You might also have (desirable):
- Experience with Tableau, PowerBI or other analytical tools.
- Experience with IFS, SAP, Salesforce or other similar enterprise systems.
- An understanding of or exposure to the Life Sciences industry. ·
- SQL and PowerQuery experience."
