Structural Steelwork QA ManagerLocation:Irlam, Manchester Salary / Benefits: £55,000 - £70,000 negotiable dependant on experience plus car / car allowance & package Company Information: A successful organisation that specialises in structural steelwork and fabrications on steel railway structures and bridges in the rail sector is looking for an experienced QA Manager with Rail and Structural Steel bias. to support on a number of recently secured long term contracts this fantastic opportunity will be working in in a busy and dynamic fabrication facility in Irlam. The QA Manager role will require the right candidate to; Demonstrate experience in a similar role and have a very good knowledge of Rail, fabrication, welding, and galvanising as well as road bridges.Update the quality records and maintain procedures and systems of work to meet the requirements of RISQS / BS EN 1090 / ISO 9001 for internal and external audits.This will involve following the Factory Production Control manual and cross-referencing documents and procedures with the company quality manual.The role will be based at the Irlam site but will involve travel to the Stockport head office to ensure all quality records and procedures are compliant over both facilities.BE Responsible for the monitoring and improvement of all aspects QA related to the fabrication and galvanising of structural steelwork.Ensure that all relevant projects, British and European standards have been met and adhered toLiaise with works manager / RWC to ensure the requirements of BS EN 1090 and BD EN ISO 3824-3 -NHSS20 are met and maintained. Ideal Candidate Skills Steelwork engineer background.Ideally HNC qualified in a relevant field (Mechanical engineering)Understanding of RISQS auditing requirements would be an advantage. Proven QA / engineering background in fabricated steelwork.Fully Conversant with ISO 9001 CE markings / BS Standards. Specifically, BS EN 1090 & BS 3834,Proactive in improving / monitoring production/ and auditing.Practical knowledge to allow interaction with production team.Prepared to assist in all aspects of manufacturing management.Good understanding of Microsoft excels / word, Auto CAD would be an advantage.Clean driving licence.
