Regional Dementia Lead (Essex & Hertfordshire)

Here is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of our Dementia Services Team. We are currently developing and introducing a new, innovative and exciting Dementia Care Programme. We believe people living with dementia can live well with the right support – you will oversee and develop this support to teams in our care homes. You will need the confidence and capability to offer focused, high-quality dementia advice and direction to your regions’ homes. You will receive personal guidance, oversight and investment in your development.

Included in your responsibilities:

Assisting with the completion of the Dementia Care Programme
Supporting, developing and guiding our homes’ Dementia Champions
Delivering dementia-related training packages
Coaching and mentoring staff in dementia care, including working alongside
Supporting the provision of high quality, meaningful activity for people with dementia
Monitoring, assessing and reporting on set standards of dementia care in our homes
Offering guidance to homes’ teams with individual residents’ dementia care needs
Providing dementia advice and support to families, including awareness sessions.
Supporting and leading on dementia initiatives and projects
You will need the confidence and capability to offer focused, high-quality dementia support and direction to your regions’ homes. So, you will receive individual guidance, oversight and investment in your development. We are known as a flexible, open and friendly team.

You must have a thorough knowledge and practical experience of leading on person-centred dementia care, including stress/distress. You will have the ability to guide, inspire and lead others. You will have developed effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills. You will be confident and determined, yet flexible and intuitive. You will be working independently on most visits to homes, so will be good at planning your own work.

As this position will mean supporting various homes, you must be able to travel across the country.
