Scientific Officer / Clinical Scientist – Winchester (Hybrid) – £47,000-£55,000 (DOE)

Scientific Officer with an in-depth knowledge of current practice in diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine required to join a dynamic and fast-growing engineering organisation based near Winchester.

The successful Scientific Officer will p rovide leadership in nuclear medicine technology, supporting both the commercial and delivery teams, and will provide advice and support during the development and implementation of new equipment, recommending best practice in line with current regulations and guidelines. The role is a collaborative supporting position working with a range of stakeholders from academia, industry, and the NHS.

This is a new role within the organisation and is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to help shape my clients progress into the growing nuclear medicines market globally (starting with the UK and Europe).

The Package:

Salary- £47,000-£55,000
37 hours a week Monday-Thursday 08:30-17:00 and Friday 08:30-16:30 – Hybrid working options available

The Role:

• Provide the leadership in nuclear medicine technology supporting both the commercial and delivery teams.
• Be familiar with regulatory requirements for pre-clinical trials and equipment together with full GMP production and validation requirements.
• To gain knowledge of market activity in nuclear medicine, principally in the UK and Europe
• To be the main point of contact for academia, clients, suppliers, and trade bodies.
• To maintain familiarity with the full range of nuclear medicine, Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and Positron emission tomography (PET), providing ongoing expert scientific and technical support.
• To gain and maintain awareness of all nuclear medicine supply chains including the use of waste radionuclides, new fission/fusion technology (e.g., SHINE Technologies and NorthStar Medical) and other technology being developed.
• To direct and support the technical delivery of engineering proposals and projects in relation to the scientific and regulatory aspects of radiopharmaceutical production.

Requirements:

• BSc in Clinical Technology, Radiography or similar.
• Will have an in-depth knowledge of current practice in diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine Familiarity with the use of hot cells for radiopharmaceutical production.
• A background in clinical science, medical physics or similar would be highly advantageous.
