Main Purpose of the Job:
Home based and regional. As a Building Surveyor, your primary responsibilities include undertaking surveying activities, delivering projects, and driving revenue-generating activities in alignment with client needs and company objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct property surveys and prepare detailed specifications for various works.
- Perform building defect assessments and provide clear reports to facilitate repair decisions.
- Advise clients on technical solutions while maximising value for money.
- Analyse tenders and produce comparison reports for informed decision-making.
- Liaise with external parties for seamless project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and best practices.
- Supervise works to maintain excellent customer care and quality.
- Manage contractor and consultant performance effectively.
- Identify potential business opportunities and assist in business development efforts.
- Collaborate with team members to drive improvement opportunities.
- Fulfill other duties as required for team efficiency.
Areas of Responsibility/Accountability:
This role is integral to one of three Regional Surveying and Project Delivery teams across the UK.
Key Interfaces:
- Property Managers, Regional Managers, and Heads of Operations.
- External businesses and organisations, including key customers and clients.
Qualifications:
- Technical qualification in Surveying or related field (e.g., Degree / HND).
- Professional certification such as MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent (highly desirable).
Experience:
- Extensive technical surveying experience in Property Management.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to articulate performance metrics.
- Proficiency in building relationships and driving improvement initiatives.
- Thorough understanding of H&S regulations and project management standards.
- Familiarity with the Residential Property Sector and regulatory processes.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management and delivery.
- IT competency, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to manage workload efficiently and maintain accurate time-sheets.
