Job description

Empowering Learning are supporting an all-through special free school for students aged 4 - 18 years with autism and/or severe learning difficulties based in Northamptonshire. They are seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal (Overseeing Quality of Education) on three-month fixed term contract initially from April 2024, with that then transferring to a permanent contract from September 2024. All students who attend the academy have an Education, Health and Care Plan, plus the academy caters for a wide range of abilities, from students who are able to function academically at their chronological age level to those who are working significantly below.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Contribute to the strategic leadership and operational day‐to ‐day management of the academy
• Direct line management responsibility of selected staff
• Work with leaders to implement and deliver an appropriate, broad and balanced SEND curriculum
• Strategically support the curriculum intent of leaders, with a key focus on pathways for all students across the academy
• Lead the teaching staff to ensure high standards of curriculum implementation and curriculum impact
• Monitor curriculum impact by analysing and evaluating student achievement data
• Ensure strategies for intervention are in place in close liaison with the SENDCo, whilst setting aspirational targets to raise standards and accelerate progress
• Facilitate a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve the highest standards
• Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Salary: £59,000 - £65,000 (Dependent on experincence)
