Job description
This post is not recognised by the College of Emergency Medicine for professional training. However, this post gives an opportunity to expand and consolidate the post holders current medical knowledge. The post-holder will also have a valuable opportunity to participate in the further development of services, which forms an important and often neglected, part of higher medical training. The successful candidate will be clinically responsible to the Consultants for the reception, resuscitation, diagnosis, and initial treatment of all emergencies in the main Emergency Department. There is the same responsibility for clinical decisions on appropriate admission of patients into hospital beds to special units or other hospitals, to out-patient clinics, or to the care of the family doctor.
