Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is a subsidiary of Stadler. SRS UK provides a train maintenance service for a growing number of clients in the UK. In the next few years over 150 new Stadler trains will be joining the UK Rail Network which signifies the start of an exciting future for Stadler in the UK. Our current depot locations are in Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle and Norwich offering a wide scope of opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the UK Rail Industry. We are looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant to join the Procurement team at our Kirkdale Depot. Reporting to the Materials Manager, The role will be responsible for having sound knowledge of material supply principles, procedures, and practices. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of rolling stock and an understanding of rolling stock maintenance practices, particularly in the use and requirement of materials and parts.• Processing PO's with approved vendors
• Tracking deliveries and updating order records (e.g. dates)
• Ensure all suppliers meet the company's minimum required specification on acceptable material quality, especially with safety-critical parts
• Support any function with Supplier related issues (first contact point)
• Supervise overdue materials and parts with suppliers to effectively minimise any delays.
• Amendment of re-order levels to eliminate shortages to bill-of-material issues
• Arrange for prompt return for repair/replace or recalibration of tools and equipment used for maintenance
• Recognise risk and be able to pre-empt mitigate & find resolution of.
• Support Warranty process as required
