NPI Project Manager
In support of a specialist and privately owned machining and assembly operation in Halesowen plus working alongside their sister site in the Midlands, our client is seeking a NPI Project Manager to support their ongoing business winning and NPI activity within the aerospace and industrial sectors.
Working in this growing family run organisation with customers in the UK and US, having an increasing complexity of product and customer development activities around their range of tooling and die sink product solutions, this position reports to the Operations Director and will have the responsibility for the overall direction, co–ordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
The successful candidate will work with the Senior Management Team and the wider business, having a positive impact on the work environment while achieving the Company's objectives. You will be a self–starter, creating momentum to drive through change and good practices based on experience of knowing "what good looks like."
Main duties and responsibilities include:
– Responsible for the day–to–day management of all open projects and quotations for the business, liaising with aerospace OEM and Tier 1 customers to deliver an industry leading program.
– Liaising with and updating stakeholders in Sales, Production, Purchasing and Technical to ensure customers receive tenders and projects on time and delivered in full.
– Working with their US Business Unit to ensure timeline and systems are being adhered to
– Full management of project adherence with regards to timelines, technical queries and delivery within expected cost parameters
– Arranging and hosting customer meetings on Teams and on site with other company personnel.
– Visiting external suppliers where appropriate to ensure lead time and commitments are being adhered to.
– Manage existing project budgets
– Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
– Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
– Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
– Complete project evaluations and assessment of results
For new projects, you will be responsible for:
– Lead the planning and implementation of new projects, facilitating the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
– Define project tasks and resource requirements.
– Develop full scale project plans with the use of a cross functional team and manage project resource allocation.
– Plan and schedule project timelines, tracking project deliverables using appropriate tools.
– Provide direction and support to project team.
– Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders, providing project evaluations and assessment of results
– Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
– Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
Candidates should ideally have/be:
– Existing experience in project management with an NPI bias.
– Have training in or a qualification in a suitable project management qualification.
– Be able to manage and work alongside multi–faceted teams.
– Where possible have experience in risk management, strategic planning and change management.
– Have experience of using a proficient project management software.
– Ideally be from a manufacturing environment.
– Able to monitor and control budgets.
– Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and lead.
