A permanent Installations Lead Supervisor role, based in the UK. This role will likely see you spend most of your time in Avonmouth, and the Southwest but may require other occasional travel as part of your duties.
Your new role
The Installations Lead Supervisor will act as the focal point for installation operations and expertise within Osprey and undertake, or support others to, the safe planning and execution of all installation operations. This role will also be responsible for the safe operation of the installation equipment through maintenance management and regular review of assessment of competent operators.
The Installations Lead Supervisor is accountable for:
- Installations Planning – support project teams (Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) as required with the safe planning and design for projects/jobs requiring the use of installation equipment including, but not limited to, jack and skid (including turntables), hydraulic gantry systems, Synchronous lift systems (e.g. JS250/500), climbing jacks and strand jacks.
- Training & Development – using skills and expertise to support the team through the use of training to develop their knowledge, skills, and understanding of installation equipment, and best practice operations. Responsible for completing Technical Competency assessments on all personnel using the equipment. In addition, not only will you be responsible for supporting others to develop their use of the systems, but you will be required to maintain the most up-to-date knowledge and best practice for using this equipment.
- Maintenance – flag, enlist or complete appropriate maintenance for all installation equipment. Ensure that statutory inspections for all equipment is complete and up to date to ensure zero downtime (e.g. LOLER inspections for gantry systems)
- Installations Coordination – in addition to planning support with the coordination, execution and mobilisation of all installation equipment to and from site locations as required
- Supervision and Operations (Installations) – responsible for supervising and overseeing all installation work that happens in accordance with RAMS, Lift plans, and Engineering safely and accurately.
- Operator Responsibilities – as a member of the Osprey Operating team support with other scopes of work, using other equipment, to support projects/jobs as required with a positive can-do attitude.
- Business Development – Lead the Osprey installations offering and discuss solutions with clients, ensuring that following the initial customer contact, the result is a feasible commercial and technical proposal, supported by commercial team.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have:
- GCSE’s or similar
- CPCS Blue Card Supervisor and Slinger Signaller
- UK Driving License
- Demonstratable experience in the heavy lift industry either UK or globally
- Experience working as part of a team, and also in client facing role
- Experienced with gantry systems, jack and skidding using conventional skid systems and HPU’s
- Experience with synchronous lift systems (e.g.JS250/500 or in-house manufactured systems)
- Working in Civil infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Renewables, Railway, Nuclear, Ports environment
- Knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and BS7121-1/3
- Managing on-site operations and managing and instructing a team
- Health and Safety at Work Act
- Able to adapt to different environments and change
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level
- Able to balance both customer and business needs effectively
- High attention to detail and focus on quality and safety
- Strong team player but able to take initiative and lead
- Punctual, positive, enthusiastic, and can-do attitude
- Able to lead and engage people to achieve positive outcomes
- Willing to share learnings to support the development of others
