Job Opportunity: Support Worker (Day Centre) for People with Learning Disabilities and Autism

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and autism? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join a Day Centre team in Worksop.

Role Overview:

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life for our service users. Your responsibilities will include:

• Person-Centered Support: Providing one-on-one and group support to individuals with diverse needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and happiness.
• Activity Planning: Organizing and facilitating engaging activities, outings, and workshops that promote social interaction, creativity, and skill development.
• Personal Care: Assisting with personal hygiene, mealtime support.
• Emotional Support: Building trusting relationships with service users, actively listening to their concerns, and offering encouragement.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate records, progress notes, and incident reports.

Working hours are Monday - Friday 1000-1500

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Experience: A minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role within the UK, preferably in a day centre or community setting.
• Qualifications: A relevant qualification in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential.
• Skills: Compassion, patience, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Understanding: A genuine understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
