Operations Analyst

Chester

6-month initial contract

£32,000 per annum

My high-profile banking client is looking for an Operations Analyst to join their team on an initial contract of 6 months. You will work Monday to Friday on a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days a week in their Chester office and 2 days remotely during the hours of 8:30 - 5:30. During training you will be required to be in the office full time.

Job Description:

As an Operations Analyst, you will be an integral part of the Margin Management team, responsible for ensuring the firm's margin calls are answered, agreed, and processed efficiently. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients, contributing to the day-to-day Collateral Process. This role involves account profiling, managing cash and collateral movements, investigating margin calls, and monitoring risk across a portfolio of clients.

Key Role and Daily Tasks:

• Profile client accounts and communicate daily cash and collateral movements


• Investigate and recalculate margin calls as needed


• Monitor margin requirements resulting from client trading activities


• Collaborate with internal teams to set up client SSI instructions


• Resolve cash and securities investigations with key stakeholders


• Investigate and resolve client queries on interest calculations


• Coordinate required FX conversions for clients


• Monitor risk and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients


• Own Key Performance Indicators, including reconciliation items and collateral fails


• Attend client review meetings, prepare and present KPI and MIS reports


• Authorise release of equity from client accounts


• Liaise with internal departments for onboarding, risk, client service, and account management


• Participate in ad hoc projects for new processes or industry initiatives

Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge and understanding of working within a collateral management team


• Excellent communication skills


• Ability to work under pressure in a team environment


• Strong analytical skills to identify gaps in processes and question tasks performed


• Appreciation of operational risk and internal audit processes
