Job description
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Content Co-Ordinator for an initial 9 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £161.73/day Inside IR35 (4 days per week). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities:
- Create and update content in the CMS.
- Support the Content Team to produce engaging cross-channel content that reflects organisational priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure high-quality content across the organisation's web presence.
- Manage priorities and negotiate successful outcomes.
- Use content design and accessibility principles to ensure supplied content is fit for purpose.
- As part of the Content Team to use data to inform content development.
- Be interested and engaged with the latest trends in content design and web content development.
Essential Skills:
- Good understanding of audience-focused digital content across platforms.
- Practical editing and content creation skills, with a focus on web content, with a good eye for grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Knowledge of analytics and other engagement measuring tools for web.
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and designing keyword-rich content.
- An interest in digital engagement trends and best practices in content design, engagement, and user experience.
- Understanding of current copyright, data protection, accessibility, and equalities legislation.
- Has strong attention to detail and strives for excellence in their work.
- Understands the importance of organisational brand and tone.
- A strong desire to connect with users through content.
- Empathises with user needs and motivations and is committed to delivering the best possible experience for them.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on clarity.
- Proactive, and determined, doing what needs to be done and following through.
- Helpful, approachable, respectful, and team-oriented, fostering a positive work environment.
- Examples of practical editing and content creation, with a focus on written web content.
- Experience of working with databases and content management systems (CMS) to organise content and data.
- Experience of managing competing priorities and delivering to deadlines.
- A degree or professional qualification in a relevant subject or work experience in content creation, content delivery, copy-editing, writing, or similar.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio.
- Understanding of the principles of Content Design, Service Design, or similar.
- Familiarity with agile practices and methods
- User research or Content Design qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of writing interpretative content for collections or services in the creative, arts, or heritage sector.
- Experience in web visitor analysis using tools such as Google Analytics.
