Introduction to the role:
The successful candidate will be part of the Commercial Litigation - Manchester team. The team act for corporate clients in relation to complex litigation both in the UK and internationally, helping them tackle disputes effectively.
The successful candidate will place a key focus on handling Finance Litigation matters for an established portfolio of lenders and asset based lenders, including enforcement of loan agreements, personal guarantees, their security, debt recovery instructions from these lenders for collection of invoices assigned to them as well as complex debt recovery and contractual claims.
The candidate will be required to supervise and develop junior fee earners and assist with the growth and development of the client base.
Key responsibilities:
Handling a complex caseload of debt recovery matters.
Client liaison in person, in writing and over the telephone
Communicate with clients, litigants in person, solicitors, counsel, courts and all other interested parties
Resolving issues that arise as part of the litigation process.
Drafting a range of legal documents.
Instructing Counsel and experts
Preparation of reports to clients
Negotiation
Essential:
Experience and a real interest in dealing with Financial Litigation and Debt Recovery Claims.
Able to work as a team player assisting across the team as well as being able to work independently
Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
Hard working and professional
Demonstrates an understanding of clients' needs/expectations to meet client protocols/agreed service levels
Excellent organisational and time management skills including ability to plan and prioritise work appropriately so that deadlines are met
