Responsible to : Finance Manager
Pension : Contributory pension available
Annual Leav e: 25 days per annum plus 12 statutory days (pro rata if applicable)
Based at : Hybrid Working Model in operation (Office located at 100 Great Patrick Street, Belfast)
Salary : £28,000 - 30,000 per annum (pro rata)
Hours : 21 hours per week

We are a Social Enterprise based in Belfast which has been operating for 9 years. We are a growing firm and have developed a strong reputation servicing a wide client portfolio of Charities and Social Enterprises. We provide outsourced accounting services including bookkeeping, preparation of periodic management accounts, VAT returns, funder reports and year end support.

We are looking for a conscientious team player with a hands-on approach, to join our supportive and relaxed working environment. We also offer hybrid working.

Job Purpose

• The post holder will support the Finance Manager in delivering a comprehensive finance service to Viable, Include Youth, VOYPIC and other VIable clients
• Provide management accounts for a range of clients
• Assist with year-end processes
• Work closely with staff teams in VIable client organisations
• Seek at all times to be effective an efficient and to enhance the quality of service which the finance team gives to all its clients thereby assisting them to provide a high quality of service.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Duties for this role include :

Management of a portfolio of clients

• Client engagement
• Planning and scheduling
• Client reporting
• Attending client meetings, dealing with queries Preparation of Management & other reports
• Periodic management accounts including accruals, prepayments, journals & funder analysis
• VAT returns
• Budget preparation
• Year-end file preparation and liaising with client auditors/independent examiners
• Ad hoc accounting projects

Book-keeping for client portfolio

• Posting transactions to Sage 50
• Bank reconciliations
• Control account reconciliations
• Contributing to the development of the bookkeeping service with regards to process improvement

General

The key responsibilities above give a broad outline of the functions of the post. However, these duties must be approached in a flexible manner. The post holder will be expected to adapt to changing circumstances and undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post as allocated by your line manager as part of working in a small team to deliver VIable’s mission, vision and goals. The outline of responsibilities may change from time to time.

• To adhere to existing work practices, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
• To attend and contribute to staff meetings and one to one supervision meetings.
• To demonstrate their commitment to VIable by their regular attendance and the efficient completion of all tasks allocated to them.
• To work with information technology and associated systems in accordance with VIable Policies and Procedures.
• To comply with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures, in the performance of the duties of the post.
