An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an award-winning digital publisher of academic resources in the arts and humanities .

Would you like to work for a creative, innovative, and successful digital publisher? We are looking for someone with a passion for history, digital humanities and supporting academic research who is interested in educational technology and a career in publishing.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced editorial team, to assist with the research and development of new AMD resources, supporting in all aspects of the formulation of project proposals and the preparation of projects for handover to the production team. The successful candidate will be an effective researcher and writer, capable of producing detailed and relevant summaries and analyses, as well as a confident communicator, with both internal and external stakeholders. 

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Assisting with the production of project proposals and costings.

• Conducting market research on new project ideas.

• Conducting regular surveys of the competitive marketplace.

• Compiling bibliographic data from archival catalogues.

• Visiting archives around the world to research, select and assess appropriate material for new projects.

• Attending conferences and preparing reports to keep the department up to date on academic trends

• Compiling feedback from scholars and librarians on new project ideas.

• Working with the Copyright team on copyright assessment, research and outreach as appropriate

• Representing AM in a positive and professional manner to external parties, including archives, consultant editors and members of the scholarly community.

• You should have a demonstrable passion for history and an interest in primary source content
• Graduate in any subject area OR educated to A-level (or equivalent) with relevant work experience in the cultural/heritage sectors
• Experience in a project-based or editorial environment (desirable)

This role is offered on a Hybrid basis. Our hybrid roles work upon a principle of a minimum of two days per week in the office, with up to three days working remotely/from home.

The editorial department’s mission is to create critically-framed resources of the highest quality to support clear learning and research needs. We foster academic and archival relationships around the world, publishing high quality collections of manuscripts, rare books, objects and learning tools to support humanities research. We harness our team’s passion for unique, historic research material and the latest technological advancements to make our digital primary source collections as user-intuitive and discoverable as possible to students and researchers.
