Job Title: Business Development Manager Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 + Annual Bonus Location: Cheadle Hours: Monday – Thursday, 09:00-17:00 and Friday, 09:00-16:00 Type: Permanent This is a hybrid and face-to-face client role. Roughly, 2 days in the office and then the rest of the week either spent at home or visiting national clients.
Reed are currently working with a financial service company in their search for a new Business Development Manager. The position is open due to an internal progression, so we’re looking for the right person to build the team back to full strength!

Role Purpose
- To manage existing clients and also grow the pipeline of new business.
- Demonstrate and close the sale of products and services through authorised intermediaries, mutuals, consumers, corporates and any other identified sources
- To ensure achievement of wider teams KPIs (Team targets, not individual)
Duties
- Ensure implementation of the wider business strategy to penetrate in the business-to-business world
- To utilise webcasts, podcasts, webinars, and any other digital broadcast means to effectively communicate to groups of intermediaries.
- To have an up to date and thorough knowledge of financial technology and the schemes used to deliver our products and services to the end user
- Attend all meetings, conferences and road shows, as required, to promote products and services to potential customers – Authorised Intermediaries, mutuals, consumers, corporates, affiliates and any other identified sources
- Ensure the brand is promoted, in conjunction with Marketing, such that it is seen as a prominent and credible option for Authorised Intermediaries and for other potential customers
- Ensure the operational delivery requirements for those who deal with the business are appropriately identified and managed
- Feedback to management any product or process change requests from the customers and intermediary partners, for review and consideration
- Retain a knowledge of and to contribute fully to all Compliance and other regulatory requirements relevant to the distribution of the products and services
About you!
- Driving License as role involves travel to hard to reach places.
- Previous experience in an account management, sales account management, BDM role is essential – 2 years’ minimum
- Must be able to display demonstrated experience developing and winning new business from B2B clients. Ideally with experience in face-to-face meetings with clients.
- Desirable but not essential – previous experience in financial service sales, or meeting intermediaries in the field.
- A successful track record of consistently achieving business development targets, KPIs and objectives
- Robust experience and personal resilience when dealing with adverse customer responses
- A sound understanding and in-depth working knowledge of Financial Services products and markets, including friendly society products and services
- Ability to travel, including overnight, to suit the needs of the business
