3rd Line Network Engineer - Eligible for SC
Location: Bracknell
Salary: £40,000
Type - Fully on-site (Security Purposes)
Clearance: Eligible for SC
A primary technical partner of the MOD are looking to add to their digital innovation team. This role will be working up around the technical forefront of UK Defence innovation, collaborating with various technical teams and supporting the mission of keeping UK Defence agile and safe.
Role:
You will be responsible for providing direct technical support for all services to maintain a high level of support across multiple BAU activities.
You will be a part of a diversely skilled team of engineers who will work closely and collaboratively across multiple sites and accounts within a shared service.
You will perform configuration changes and upgrades.
The role includes liaise with third parties and other internal teams.
Candidates must have knowledge of the following Cisco/Juniper/VPN/Firewalls
Experience:
In depth Routing & Switching (L2 / L3 connectivity) (WAN, LAN even SDWAN)
Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS)
In depth Routing & Switching (L2 / L3 connectivity) (WAN, LAN even SDWAN)
Firewall Management (policies/rules/security zones)
Encryption methods (IPSec, SSL, TLS, DTLS)
VPN configuration
Router/Switch CLI experience
Hardware and Infrastructure experience (switches, routers, misc i.e sSFPs and different connectors
Able to produce Network diagrams, HLD,LLD and formal work instructions for peers and subordinates
DNS/DHCP
Virtualisation and automation
Basic scripting
Security Hardening of IT Estate
