Business Administration Apprentice
£5.28 per hour (pro rata)
Required from Thursday 5th September 2024 until 31st August 2026
37 hours per week / Term time only 

Cassop Primary School & Nursery is looking to appoint a Business Administration Apprentice who will have the responsibility to provide intensive and wide ranging support to all members of the team.

We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude, a team player, with good communication skills both verbal and written.

The successful candidate will develop skills to provide administrative support to the team to help the school operate effectively and efficiently.

Duties include but are not inclusive of:
• Answering the telephone and taking accurate messages
• Receiving visitors and referring to appropriate colleagues
• Photocopying and preparation of documents as required
• Updating and maintaining databases and filing systems
• Updating the Website

Essential Qualifications: Either have or expect to achieve 4 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Grades 4-9 (A-C) or hold an equivalent and relevant qualification.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
• Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
• Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
• Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example:

Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service:
38 weeks (term time) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service:
38 weeks (term time) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
