About Our Client
The client is a large PE backed retail business based out of Oxford, they have recently acquired a new business unit and have doubled their size to circa. £1bil turnover and are looking to bolster their finance function accordingly.
Job Description
The key responsibilities of the newly appointed Commercial Analyst will be:
- Financial Analysis: Conducting thorough financial analysis of business performance, including creating financial models, identifying key drivers of business performance - specifically to drive sales and margin, as well as supporting the management of working capital employed across the business.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Preparing and managing budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and analysing trends to provide recommendations to senior management.
- Commercial Strategy: Collaborating with business stakeholders to provide financial insights that support the development and execution of commercial strategies and initiatives.
- Performance Reporting: Developing and producing regular reports on business performance to provide insights on inventory and other key working capital areas.
- Risk Management: Identifying and analysing business risks and providing recommendations for risk mitigation and management.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Commercial Analyst will be:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
- A high level of Excel is essential
- You must be proactive in nature with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines ensuring that the work is done to a high standard.
- Analytical
- Highly organised.
- Able to present to internal stakeholders
- Attention to detail, good communication, hard-working and approachable character with willingness to support and improve the finance tasks.
- Flexible, curious, eager to learn and contribute to the success of the finance team.
