Overview
A leading contract electronics manufacturer, specialising in custom solutions for small to medium markets, are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to contribute to innovative projects and be a key player in their industry-leading team.
Our client is a full-service provider, who offer fast-track prototyping, SMT/through-hole assembly, test and final assembly build. As a result, they are able to tailor services to meet the unique requirements of their customers.
Senior Test Engineer Objective:
The Senior Test Engineer will lead and optimise testing processes to ensure high-quality and reliable PCB's. They will enhance efficiency, collaborate cross-functionally, and contribute to continuous improvement, ultimately bolstering the success and competitiveness of our PCB manufacturing site. Additionally, the Senior Test Engineer will mentor and develop the test engineering team.
Senior Test Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive testing strategy.
- Establish, maintain and provide team training against quality assurance processes to ensure the production of high-quality PCB's.
- Implement measures to prevent defects and continuously improve product quality.
- Develop test plans based on product specifications and customer requirements.
- Oversee the execution of tests to validate the functionality and reliability of PCBs.
- Work closely with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of testing processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in testing procedures.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of test plans, procedures, and results.
- Collaborate with customer support teams to address and resolve testing-related issues reported by customers.
- Manage the test engineering team and ensure effective collaboration with other departments.
- Assign to team their workload according to skills sets and other individual prioritise and monitor output.
Senior Test Engineer Qualifications:
- Strong ability to read circuit schematics.
- Strong ability to use common test equipment such as oscilloscope, logical analysers, power supply and multi meter.
- Ability to follow complex test instructions.
- Knowledge of analogue electronics such as capacitors, inductors, diodes, impedance, op-amps and oscillators.
- Knowledge of embedded micro controller functionality and programming.
