Position : Crime Investigator (PIP 1) - OPERATION BRAMBER
Division / Department : Specialist Crime Command, Operation Bramber
Status : Full Time or Happy to Talk Flexible Working
Contract Type : Fixed Term Contract
The Role & Key Responsibilities : We have an exciting opportunity to join Sussex Police as a Crime Investigator working on a 12-month, fixed term contract.
Successful applicants will support Operation Bramber, an investigation into potential offences of Manslaughter by Gross Negligence and Corporate Manslaughter by Gross Negligence at a large medical establishment in Sussex.
Responsibilities include :
- Supporting the investigation of Rape cases.
- Thoroughly investigating allegations to bring potential offenders to justice.
- Assisting in pursuing lines of enquiry to prove/disprove allegations and keep victims safe.
- Collaborating with detectives and criminal investigators.
Location : Crime Investigators will be based at Centenary House, Worthing, initially, but flexibility is required.
Skills & Experience :
- Ability to handle challenging situations involving vulnerable adults.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to plan, organise, and complete tasks within tight deadlines.
- Commitment to integrity and fairness.
- Emotional resilience and passion for public service.
Desired Experience :
- Knowledge of criminal justice procedures.
- Experience in criminal investigations.
- Professionalising Investigations Programme (PIP1) accreditation.
