Job description

The Senior Partnerships Manager will be responsible for providing an effective strategy and partnerships function that takes account of national and local strategic planning and partnership programmes and requirements. The post-holder will play a key role in this work by: Supporting work to ensure that the organisations strategic vision, aims and objectives remain relevant and up to date. Serve as a main point of contact for partner organisations and providers to address and respond to enquiries, requests, and concerns, with the aim of fostering positive working relationships. Leading the planning, progression, and delivery against the Joseph Rowntree Anchor Institution Framework (JRF) to deliver the ambition to be a positive anchor institution in our local communities. Ensuring awareness and understanding of emerging national and regional policies within the Trusts corporate leadership teams. Identifying ways and helping to build on the capacity and capabilities of the Trust and partner organisations through knowledge sharing, skill development, and resource sharing where appropriate. Staying informed about innovative partnership models and best practices in healthcare industry, integrating new ideas and approaches into the Trusts partnership strategies. Co-ordinating, leading and delivering on the development of a regular robust report to ensure that the executive team are kept informed of all partnership developments and priorities. Ensuring that partnership activities adhere to the relevant NHS regulations, policies, and legal requirement, escalating and mitigating potential risks or issues. Providing and supporting corporate leadership. Being a first point of contact for divisional leadership teams as per the account management alignment within the wider team. Supporting divisional and directorate teams in their work relating to strategy, partnerships, business case development and progression, and anchor institution priorities. The post holder will be experienced in project management, process creation, strategic planning and building and fostering relationships internally and with external stakeholders to support the delivery of the organisations strategic aims. There will also be involvement in wider projects and opportunities to develop broad and varied relationships. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Strategic Partnership Development Identifying potential partnerships within the healthcare system which could enhance patient care and service delivery in line with the strategic ambitions set out in the corporate and clinical services strategies of the Trust, including other NHS organisations, private healthcare providers, academic institutions, and community organisations. Ensuring that partnership activities are aligned to the Trusts broader strategic plan, contributing positively to the organisations strategic goals and ambitions. Providing senior manager support and input in internal strategic development groups, including coordinating meetings, agreeing the agendas with the executive team, coordinating papers, and attending meetings to gain awareness of delivery against plans. Support the Associate Director in the provision and facilitation of high-quality events and workshops that align to the portfolio of the role. 2. Development of the Trust as a positive Anchor Institution Be an expert on anchor institutions and the relevant framework and actions to support the Trust in progressing as a positive anchor institution in its local communities and Places. Lead and manage the process of self-assessment by working with Divisional and Directorate teams, aligning the process to the Joseph Rowntree Framework (JRF). Co-ordinate with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure the relevant actions and ambitions are agreed and pursued to progress against the JRF and improve the Trust position against the key indicators. 3. Partnership Development, Collaboration, and Relationship Building Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with internal teams and external partners through effective communication, collaboration, and mutual understanding. Collaborate with partners to design and implement joint initiatives that leverage each organisations strengths to improve patient care, streamline processes, reduce unnecessary workload, and achieve shared goals. Coordinate cross-functional teams to work on collaborative projects, ensuring effective communication, keeping the Associate Director and executive team briefed on progress, priorities, and risks. Collaborate with community organisations to develop initiatives that address specific healthcare needs within the local population, promoting self-management, community health and well-being, and a reduction in health inequalities. Represent the Trust in external partnership meetings, conferences, and events, advocating for the organisations strategic priorities and sharing and receiving information on successful partnership models. 4. Monitoring and Interpreting Policy Implement and manage a process to monitor and horizon scan for relevant national policy and guidance and develop briefings for the executive team and senior leaders within the Trust, and beyond where appropriate. 5. Procurement, Tendering, and Business Case Development Support the Trust in the development and submission of tender submissions and procurement opportunities related to commissioner discussions and requirements for information. To provide advice and guidance to divisional and directorate teams on the effective completion of tender submissions, ensuring a central log is maintained and submissions are progressed in line with the internal governance structures of the Trust. Support with the development of business cases where required; more specifically those which have a value more than £5million. (Requires a commitment to undertake the Better Business Case training programme and exam). 6. Communication and Account Management To develop strong and mature working relationships with divisions, commissioners, and other providers and stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency of planning processes. Develop and maintain clear channels of communication within the health community, crossing professional and organisational boundaries where necessary, as well as within the Trust. Co-manage the directorate intranet site working with other members of the team, providing full information on appropriate directorate and Trust activities, resources, priorities, and partnerships. Being a first point of contact for divisional leadership teams as per the account management alignment within the wider team, where each senior member of the team has responsibility to support a clinical services division with any strategy, planning, and partnership related work. 7. General Manage members of the Strategy, Planning & Partnerships team as required. Undertake internal training sessions with all types of staff on strategy, anchor institution progression and alignment (as per JRF), business case development, and partnership related matters. Regular use of a computer and Visual Display Unit (VDU) on a daily basis. Travel to and between hospital and community sites where appropriate as required. Complete high-quality reports, presentations, and any other requested information for all levels of committees and forums, including Trust Board. Any other duties required to meet the needs of the services provided by the Strategy, Planning & Partnerships team.
