Job description
A senior electronics engineering role to work on military, instrumentation and acoustic systems.
Candidate should have demonstrable experience and specific expertise in analogue and digital circuit design preferably in a product development environment.
The work will involve mixed signal design including pre-amplifiers, filters, power supplies, interfacing and analog-digital conversion for precision instrumentation applications. Designs should be safe and be compliant with product standards and legal requirements.
Experience with microcontroller-based circuit design and embedded software essential.
Some experience or knowledge of FPGA based circuit design and HDL is desirable.
The candidate will be expected to work independently on an task or overseeing a team contributing to all aspects of the product development cycle from requirement analysis through design & development, prototyping and into production.
Some research and investigation into new ideas and techniques that can be applied to the business would be required.
Candidate would be expected to produce or sign off design documentation and test specifications.
Candidate will be responsible for initiating investigations and corrective actions for design failures or non-performance.
Candidate would be responsible for ensuring that test rigs, instrumentation, prototypes and laboratory practices are constructed or undertaken in a safe manner.
Practical skills would be desirable but not essential; IPC training can be provided.
Candidate will be expected to provide support for bidding/proposal preparation and planning as required.

Assembler and/or embedded 'C'
Use of FPGA technologies.
Linux and other OS
Good written and presentational communication skills will be required.
