Formulation Scientist
About the role
Tangerine Holdings currently have an excellent opportunity for a Formulation Scientist to join our expanding Research and Development team.
You will be responsible for helping the R&D team to create and develop new and existing products within the animal health sector, to strengthen our product portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects within an environment where creativity and innovation is highly valued. The post-holder is expected to spend a minimum of two days per week in the lab.
Main duties
- Laboratory development of formulations.
- Supporting our buying team on identifying suppliers for raw materials and assessing suitability within our formulations.
- Helping to maintain the R&D laboratory including performing calibrations and lab consumable inventory.
- Perform research to investigate new NPD opportunities.
- Remain up-to-date with innovations and trends within the veterinary, nutraceutical and adjacent industries through the attendance of trade shows, including opportunities for international travel. Using the knowledge gained to provide feedback to help drive product improvements and innovation.
- Building relationships with raw material and packaging suppliers to support NPD and EPD activities.
- Working with the R&D team to identify and organise required trial work to support product launch.
- Creation of technical documentation (specifications, batch manufacturing records etc.) in accordance with current procedures and systems.
- Participation in production-scale trials to ensure smooth transition of projects from R&D to commercial scale.
- Offering technical support within our manufacturing facility to drive efficiency and product quality.
- Working with both R&D and cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept to launch
About You
- BSc in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacology or related discipline is essential with ≥1 year industry experience or alternatively an MSc in a relevant discipline.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for continuous learning and a growth mindset
- Able to work collaboratively
